German Sport University

Founded in 1947, the German Sport University (GSU), is the only university in Germany that is dedicated exclusively to the world of sport and exercise science. The campus is located in the city of Cologne, a sports metropolis with over 800 sports clubs and home to many sport science institutions. Located at the Müngersdorf Sport Park, in the heart of Cologne’s green belt and within an almost perfect sport infrastructure, the University is home to Momentum, the German Research Centre of Elite Sport.

Thanks to its varied teaching and research environments, its close interlocking of theory and academically-based practice in all fields and types of sport, as well as its excellent services in sport and exercise science, the German Sport University Cologne is established as the top European Sport University.
