Naissa Preston, Danielle Smith and Phil Poier (CCR): IDEA World Fitness Inspiration Awards. Naissa, Danielle and Phil attended the 2019 IDEA World Convention and won a combined six Inspiration medals. Naissa won three medals, Danielle won two medals and Phil took home one medal. The medals are awarded to the person who stands out for their engagement with the material, their fellow delegates in session and generally exemplifies what it means to "Inspire the world to Fitness"
Scott Stone (PhD student): FGSR’s President’s Doctoral Prize of Distinction. The President’s Doctoral Prize of Distinction is a Top-Up award given to students registered full-time in a doctoral degree program who have won one of the eligible major doctoral-level scholarships. Scott is co-supervised by Anthony Singhal (Department of Psychology) and Craig Chapman.
Dong Woo Kang (PhD Candidate): Andrew Stewart Memorial Graduate Prize. The Andrew Stewart Memorial Graduate Prize is an award which was named for the President of the University of Alberta from 1950 to 1959, under whose administration the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research was created. The major selection criterion of this award is research accomplishment during the student's PhD program.
