About Me

Dr. Billy Strean is a 3M National Teaching Fellow — Canada's most prestigious recognition of excellence in university teaching and educational leadership.

As a 3M National Teaching Fellow, Dr. Strean has focused on excellence in teaching, learning, and educational leadership. He is actively engaged with education, healthcare, and public and private sector communities.

Dr. Strean’s research and scholarly interests include: Somatic and ontological approaches to leadership, well-being, and exhilaration; Mindfulness in educational contexts; Teaching and learning issues in physical activity and adult/higher education; The role of laughter and humour in learning and well-being; Professional practice and effectiveness in sport psychology and helping professions.
