Thank you for your interest in the equity, diversity and inclusion initiative at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta.

Throughout history essays, books and speeches have been written in an attempt to understand, acknowledge and celebrate the significance of diversity in our society. There is a myriad of perspectives that comprises our world and has been consistently emphasized as one of the foundations of the advancement of humankind.

The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry welcomes diversity and recognizes the importance of equity and inclusion at all levels: employment, medical education and delivery of care to our patients. We understand that the field of health sciences is significantly enriched by the contributions from many different voices. The support of diversity and desire for equitable opportunities are core values guiding us in our daily mission and decision-making, which will result in advancement and improved outcomes for our learners, researchers, clinicians and the communities we strive to serve.

We ensure to conduct our work in careful compliance with the Acts and regulations from the Government of Canada, the Province of Alberta and the University of Alberta. Furthermore, we
