LETHBRIDGE – With historical swimming powers, UBC Thunderbirds and Calgary Dinos, going toe-to-toe, results from day two of the Canada West Championships has set up an exciting third and final day of swimming in Lethbridge and both team titles are far from decided.

Following a win in the men’s 4 x100 freestyle relay, the defending Canada West Champion UBC Thunderbirds moved into a tie for first place with the Calgary Dinos with 464 points. The Victoria Vikes sit third with 305 points and just behind in fourth sits the Alberta Golden Bears (238).

With 19 Canada West men’s titles in their history, the T-Birds will look for a big day three and strive to tie the Dinos for the most in Canada West history with a 20th title.

After trailing by only 7.5 points after day one, the Thunderbird women have moved into the lead through 24 events thanks to four gold medal performances. With 552.5 points, the T-Birds only hold a 22.5 point lead with one day to go. Sitting in third place is the Victoria Vikes (319), followed by the Alberta Pandas (176.5).
