Story Lines: 

Alberta had their eight-game conference win streak snapped last Saturday in Winnipeg, but still lead Canada West with a 12-2-0 record. 
The Bears are the second most prolific offence in CW, having scored 62 goals in 14 games (4.43 per game). UBC, by comparison, has scored only 35 goals in 14 games, the third fewest in the conference. 
The Alberta goalie duo of Matt Berlin and Brendan Burke sit first and second in CW in both goals against average and save percentage so far this season, with each goalie posting a pair of shutouts. 
Alberta won three of the four conference meetings vs UBC last year, also beating the Thunderbirds twice this season.

Alberta (8-2) and UBC (7-3) enter the final weekend series of 2019 sitting third and fourth in Canada West. The Bears are also riding a five-game win streak, while UBC has won six straight. 
This weekend features some of the better setters in Canada West. Bears starter Max Elgert sits third in Canada West averaging 9.88 assists per set, while UBC setter Ben Hooker sits fifth at 8.67. 
The Bears and ‘Birds met only twice last season, with Alberta winning both matches in Vancouver.
